Suunto D6 review

Not much can compare to a Diving Computer that has build-in digital compass and the Suunto D6 has just that. With its digital navigation feature, the D6 provides the users a display of the cardinal and half cardinal points of the compass, using a graphical representation of a compass rose. There is also a digital display of the current bearing, which can be conveniently locked into position should you wish to follow a specific direction. Some handy arrows point the users towards the bearing.

Versatility with Three-Mode Features

Versatility is definitely one of the main characteristics of the Suunto D6, with its Multi-Mode Versatility feature. This feature offers the divers great functionality even in the face of different environments through its three available diving modes: Air, Nitrox, and Gauge.

The Air mode sets out settings that work well when diving under normal, standard diving conditions, while the Nitrox mode allows you to increase the oxygen percentage in your gas mix, allowing for faster and more efficient decompression. A wide range of preset for your gas mixes is also made available (from 21% up to 99% concentration) to you, as well as a wide range of PO2 values for your gases. As a much appreciated bonus, switching between your available gas mixes is also made convenient with the Suunto D6 Nitrox mode.

Decompression is very important, especially during your ascent to the surface. With the help of the Suunto Deep Stop RGBM algorithm, you won’t have to worry about you can be sure that your ascent is always optimally timed and your deep stops, well-coordinated.

The Suunto D6 allows you to do just that with its one-of-a-kind dive planner. As soon as you’re finished, the data you collected can easily be uploaded to your computer via the Suunto Dive Manager PC software so you and your team can analyze it further. Now you don’t need to worry about maintaining a detailed account of your dives with the graphical representation that this software can give.
